Climate change harms agricultural production, which threatens food security around the globe. This is due to the temperature rising and the precipitation patterns changing, which lead to it being difficult to grow crops. In other words, some regions have crop failure due to extreme heat while others have crop failure due to excessive rain. This makes it difficult to grow food.
Climate change is causing extreme weather events to become more and more common and severe as time goes by. These lead to food shortages by causing crop failure, destroying infrastructure, and harming animals. For example, extreme heat makes it impossible to grow crops due to the heat leading to droughts, which lead to it being impossible to grow crops.
Another thing is that there are less pollinators (e.g. bees) due to climate change. In order for crops to grow, they need to be pollinated. Climate change is causing the pollinators to decrease popularity due to things like extreme heat and habitat loss. This makes it difficult for farmers to grow crops that rely on pollination, such as nuts, fruits, and vegetables.
Another thing is global food chains are being effected by climate change. A lot of countries get there food imported by other countries, but things like extreme weather can make it harder for people to bring food to another country, which leads to higher prices due to food shortage.
Climate change has added many risks to global food security. If this is not handled, then we are in a lot of trouble in the future.
